Carissa Clark has been practicing bodywork for over 25 years. She has a whole-body intuitive approach, which is complemented by her training in Reiki, Fascial Stretch Therapy, yoga, and other movement modalities. Her focus is on each person as a whole, letting the body and breath guide each session. Carissa’s journey has come full-circle, as she was first a client at Performance Bodywork.
Growing up in North Dakota, Carissa spent most of her childhood in the hospital with severe asthma and allergies. She left high school early to pursue a medical degree with a focus on respiratory disease. However, once she was introduced to Chinese acupuncture to alleviate her own asthma flare ups, she redirected her attention to learning more about Eastern medicine, diet, movement, and breath.
Prior to retiring from the corporate world in 2021, Carissa worked as a project manager and served in senior leadership across multiple industries: Transportation & Logistics, Construction, Gaming, Energy, and Technology. Balancing her corporate career with a bit of fun, Carissa has taught multiple movement classes ranging from Ballroom, Latin, and Country dancing to rock climbing, LifeStretch, Rhino Boot Camp workouts, Animal Flow, and FloatFit. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) and practices Sculpt, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative yoga.
Life has been a continuous adventure for Carissa. In her free time she enjoys yoga, climbing, cooking, and reading. She is currently researching everything there is to know about building a floating home.
