Anna Herron, LMT, CFST-L1
Anna Herron is a passionate student of health, wellness and is regularly amazed by the human body. She started her life’s work in the compassionate arts as a caregiver in 1996 while studying Pre-Nursing. Deeply drawn to the role of caregiver, a consuming desire for exercise science and nutrition led her toward preventive care. Anna studied and began working as a Certified Personal Trainer in 2008, teaching others how to radically change their lives through safe and effective exercise. While working in the fitness industry, she focused on using corrective strategies to help her clients move well, often and without pain. Manual Therapy (massage) drew her eye as a wonderful and complementary modality to achieve this. Little did she know at the time that it was her calling. Anna graduated in 2011 with Honors with an emphasis in Therapeutic and Sports Massage from Everest Institute, and has been changing lives ever since.
Anna is a go-to person for people in pain and those who prefer classic, and knowledgeable deep tissue massage. She specializes in slow, deep therapeutic work using a combination of neuromuscular therapy, myofascial and traditional sports massage strategies. She often mixes in cupping and IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization), and is a L1 Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist. Anna’s work experience includes physical therapy, chiropractic, hospital, and long-term care settings, as well as private-practice. Notably, Anna is herself a former chronic-pain sufferer who was able to relieve her symptoms entirely through her own carefully strategized manual therapy and strength-training interventions. Her experience as both client and therapist give her unique insight into her client’s complaints, and she is known as much for her wonderful bedside manner as she is for her skillful work.
In 2018, her career opened itself to working with professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, and MLS. Anna is continually adding to her knowledge and skillset, with plans to return to school to complete her undergraduate in Exercise Science starting in Fall 2019.
